Menta

Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 15, 2026

Menta helps you cook with what you already have. To do that, the app needs to see your fridge. Here is exactly what happens to your data.

In short — No account, no ads, no tracking, no data sales. Your inventory, recipes and preferences stay on your phone. Scan images are sent to an AI for analysis, only after you consent, and Fridge to Feast does not keep them.

Who is responsible

The publisher of Menta, listed as the seller on the app’s App Store page. Contact: antoinedupontprv@gmail.com.

What the app processes, and why

Data When Why Where it goes Retention
Scan images (fridge, pantry, countertop) When you scan, after consent Recognize your ingredients App server → Anthropic (Claude) Not kept by Menta; limited retention at Anthropic
Ingredient list, meal type, craving, preferences (cuisines, diet, allergies, dislikes, skill, servings) When you ask for recipes, after consent Create suitable, checked recipes App server → Anthropic (Claude) Same
Text description of a dish When a dish illustration is created Draw the dish illustration App server → OpenAI Same; none of your images are sent to OpenAI
Random install identifier and a hash of your IP address On each AI request Count the free trial, enforce the daily limit and prevent abuse App server Daily counters deleted after 25 hours; free-trial counter kept 13 months at most
Apple-signed subscription proof (transaction identifiers, plan, end date) On each AI request, if you subscribe Verify your subscription and count what is included each month App server Monthly counters deleted after 35 days
Fridges and their inventory, recipes, favorites, shopping list, preferences, dish illustrations Always Run the app Only on your phone Until you erase them or delete the app

Your IP address is never stored as is: only an irreversible hash is used as a counter key.

Allergies and diet

Allergies and diet may reveal sensitive information (health, beliefs). They are only used to adapt and check recipes, are only sent with your explicit consent, and are never used for anything else.

Subscription and payment

The Menta Plus subscription is sold and charged by Apple through your Apple account. Fridge to Feast never receives your name, email address or payment details. The app only sends the server the Apple-signed subscription proof, to check it is genuine and apply what your subscription includes.

Legal basis

Service providers

These providers may process data outside the European Union under GDPR safeguards (EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework).

What Menta does not do

Camera and photo library

The camera is only used during a scan. The photo library is only opened if you pick an image to scan. Nothing else is read.

Your rights

You can request access, correction or deletion of your data, object to processing or withdraw consent by writing to antoinedupontprv@gmail.com. Most of your data lives on your phone: Profil → Effacer toutes mes données deletes it immediately, as does deleting the app. You can also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Children

Menta is not intended for children under 13 without parental consent.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date above is updated. Significant changes will be announced in the app.
